I recently discovered that in my area in Melbourne there is a Tool Library where community members can pay a membership fee and borrow tools to use on their DIY projects. I love this idea, I recently wrote about a community woodworking studio idea only to discover there are already hundreds of these places around. I have yet to visit any of them, but I am quite interested in the idea.
The share economy is a philosophy that people in Melbourne have really got on-board with, I am really proud to live in a city with such a great community focus. From community vegetable gardens, to a tool library the community focus is really inspiring. I think I will be paying the Brunswick Tool Library a visit!
